At Glance:

The international workshop on Machine Learning: Advances, Trends and Applications, (MLATA'13) is organized  Under the framework of the 22nd FIM International Conference on Interdisciplinary Mathematics, Statistics, and Computational Techniques (IMSCT 2013 - FIM XXII) http://www.f.waseda.jp/watada/FIM2013 The aim of this workshop is to attract researchers and practitioners from academia and industry, and provide a discussion panel in order to share their experiences of using the novel techniques for addressing the challenges in computational intelligence and its applications.

Introduction:

Typically, machine learning, a branch of artificial intelligence, is concerned with the development of algorithms and mechanisms that take data sets collected via various types of sensors as input then identify complex relationships and employ the identified patterns to make predictions based on new data. So, machine learning simply enables computers to learn from experience in order to make Web searches more relevant, blood tests more accurate and surrounding environment to adjust according to user preferences. Yet advances in machine learning over the past decade have transformed the field. Indeed, machine-learning techniques are responsible for making computers “smarter” than humans at so many of the tasks users wish to pursue.
